The kitchen is one of the most exciting spaces in a home and one that requires a lot of attention to details during the design and planning process. Choosing a layout is a very important step. You might not be able to make this decision from the start so try first to get your priorities in order to make a list of all the elements that you want to include in the design and ways to do it. You should also pick a style that you want to use…this can also help you find the ideal layout later on.

It’s actually a different version of the U-shaped layout, one which features a peninsula attached to one side of the U. The peninsula partially encloses the kitchen so it’s important to make sure it’s not too long so you can easily get in and out. There’s absolutely no way you can add an island to this kitchen since you’d have to room to move around it and it would make everything very difficult and awkward.

Green kitchen cabinets at the bottom and white ones at the top…what a chic combination, especially when mixed with all those accent pieces. We really like the bright red accents in this kitchen and the way everything is in perfect sync. Those wooden compartments at the top are a really cool feature too and the stainless steel appliances don’t look out of place either.

This design allows you to face out into a room of family and friends instead of doing dishes with your back turned to them. This socially minded setup lends itself well to entertaining and continuing conversation while performing prep work or cleanup chores.

For example, a one-wall kitchen is usually the way to go in a small home. This type of kitchen puts everything within easy reach and keeps all or most of the appliances and storage spaces on a single wall.
